Two people injured after being hit by taxi in Greenock

Two people have been hurt after being hit by a taxi in Greenock, Inverclyde.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said the man and woman were injured after being struck by the taxi in the town's Nelson Street at about 08:30.

Both were taken to nearby Inverclyde Royal Hospital. Their conditions are not thought to be life-threatening.

The police spokeswoman said inquiries into the incident were ongoing. Nelson Street was closed for a short time but has since re-opened.
