Man charged with murdering Dean Carroll in Blantyre

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who was found injured in a South Lanarkshire street.

Dean Sharkey Carroll, from Hamilton, was discovered in Fernslea Avenue, Blantyre, at about 02:30 on Saturday.

The 27-year-old died a short time later in Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride.

Brian Watt, 30, also of Hamilton, made no plea or declaration during an appearance ay Hamilton Sheriff Court. He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
