Woman 'sets herself on fire' at Clydebank police station

A police office in West Dunbartonshire has been closed to the public after a woman apparently set herself on fire in the reception area.

Police said she was injured in the public area of the station, in Montrose Street, Clydebank, at about 09:55.

The woman has been taken to hospital and the public entrance to the station has been closed off until further notice while inquiries continue.

BBC Scotland understands the woman is being treated for serious injuries.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said no one else was injured in the incident.

She added: "The woman has been taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. Inquiries are continuing.

"Due to the incident, the front counter at Clydebank Police Office is closed to the public until further notice."
