A man has been arrested after a large protest by Rangers fans outside Ibrox.

About 600 supporters demonstrated before and after the club's abandoned Championship game against Hearts on Friday evening.

They chanted against shareholder Mike Ashley, who wants Ibrox stadium as security for a £10m loan, and the club's directors.

Police said they expected to make further arrests after reviewing CCTV footage.

'Criminal activity'

A spokeswoman said: "An investigation is under way following several acts of disorder at Ibrox last night.

"One man has been arrested in connection with an incident and officers are in the process of collecting and reviewing CCTV images which will no doubt lead to further arrests.

"Anyone involved in criminal activity can be assured that officers will identify them and they will be arrested."

Police appealed for anyone with information that could assist their inquiries to contact them.

The match was abandoned after 25 minutes due to snow on the pitch.
