Five men in court over Argyll Arcade raid in Glasgow

Five men have appeared in court over a £250,000 jewellery raid at the Argyll Arcade in Glasgow in September.

Alistair Oliver, 30, Gordon McLay. 31, Jason Yendall, 29, Aaron Brannan, 23, and Jason Britton, 23, face charges of robbery and attempted robbery.

Mr Oliver and Mr McLay are both from East Lothian, while Mr Yendall, Mr Britton and Mr Brannan are all from Manchester.

They all made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody.

The five men are expected to return to the dock later this week.

Details of their appearance have only just emerged.

Eighteen watches, with the value of about £250,000, were taken during the incident on 24 September 2014 in Glasgow city centre.
