Man, 21, stabbed in Glasgow murder bid

Police are treating an attack in which a 21-year-old man was stabbed in Glasgow as attempted murder.

The victim was assaulted by two men in Don Street, Riddrie, at about 17:15 on Thursday.

The attackers escaped in a black car after the attack, and were last seen heading towards Cumbernauld Road.

The victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where his condition was described as serious but stable.

Police have appealed for witnesses and said they would be carrying out door-to-door inquiries in the area and scrutinising CCTV footage from the surrounding areas.

The attackers were both white, about 6ft tall, and of medium build. One was wearing a grey hooded top and the other was wearing a blue hooded top.

Det Insp Ogilvie Ross said: "We have yet to establish a motive for this attack, but a man has been left seriously injured and it's imperative the men responsible are traced."
