The contents of a kitchen have been taken during a break-in at a closed down bar in Paisley over the weekend.

Police said the vast majority of equipment, furniture, fixtures and fittings were stolen from The Wallace Bar on Causeyside Street.

It is thought that the theft took place between 22:00 on Sunday evening and 07:30 on Monday morning.

A white transit van was seen parked in and near to the street behind the bar during the period in question.

Police are still reviewing CCTV images but said they believe at least two men were involved in the theft and transportation of the items from the bar.

They are particularly keen to speak to a man seen sitting at a bus stop at about 07:00 on Monday, who they believe may have information on the two men and the white van.

Officers have already recovered a significant amount of the stolen property, which was estimated to be worth about £50,000.
