Woman in hospital after flat fire in Paisley
A woman is being treated in hospital after a fire in a second-floor flat in Paisley.
Fire crews responded to the incident in Wellmeadow Street following a 999 call shortly after 07:20.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued the woman before she was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital.
An investigation into the cause of the blaze is being conducted by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) and Police Scotland.
SFRS watch manager Kevin Gilluley said: "Our crews extinguished the fire and then continued to check for signs of fire spread to ensure the fire was fully out before we left the scene."
