Five people injured in crash on M74 in Glasgow

Five people have been injured in a crash involving four cars on the M74 in the south side of Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the scene, on the northbound carriageway at J1A Polmadie, at about 09:40.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove a woman from one of the cars. Three women and a man managed to get out of the other cars involved.

All five people were taken by ambulance to the nearby Victoria Infirmary. The road has since reopened.

Police said inquiries into the crash were continuing.
