'No threat' from bomb alert package in Wishaw

Bomb disposal experts have been stood down after a suspicious package reported at a house in Wishaw in North Lanarkshire was declared safe.

Police were called to property in Coldstream Crescent in the town at about midday.

An Explosive Ordinance Disposal was called in to check the package and decided that it posed no threat.

There were no evacuations in the area and police said inquiries were continuing into the package.
