Shop assistant threatened during Johnstone raid

A shop assistant was threatened with a weapon during a raid on an off-licence in Renfrewshire.

Police said a man entered the One 0 One store in Kilbarchan Road in Johnstone at about 20:35 on Saturday and demanded money.

He fled with a three-figure sum and was understood to have made-off in a small silver car.

No-one was injured but staff were left shaken. Detectives have appealed for witnesses.

The suspect was a white male, 5ft 8in/5ft 9in in height with a stocky build. He was wearing a dark hooded top and dark jogging bottoms.

Det Sgt Ross MacDonald said: "Police have been investigating this incident and we are continuing to analyse available CCTV and conduct door-to-door enquires."

"We would like to hear from anyone who recognises the description of the culprit or anyone who may have seen him hanging about the area around the time of the robbery. We are also seeking further information on the silver car which the suspect used to escape."

"It may not seem like much but as part of our broader enquiries your information could be very useful to our enquiry."
