Search for missing light aircraft after loss of contact near Oban

A major search is under way after contact with a light aircraft was lost near Oban.

Police Scotland said an emergency call was made just before 14:00 reporting that the plane had lost radar contact over Glen Kinglass near Loch Etive.

Oban lifeboat was called out, but later stood down after searching the loch.

The plane was believed to have been travelling from central Scotland to Tiree when it was reported to have dived.
