Concern is growing for the wellbeing of a 72-year-old vulnerable missing man from North Lanarkshire.

Michael Jennings was last seen leaving his home in Moodiesburn at 05:30 on Wednesday in his silver Suzuki Vitara car, registration SD13 MEU.

His family has had no contact since and is extremely concerned for him.

Mr Jennings is described as white, about 5ft 6in tall, of stocky build with blue eyes and short grey hair. He also has tattoos on both his forearms.

He is usually clean-shaven and occasionally wears glasses.

Insp Phil Rose, of Police Scotland, said: "It is out of character for Michael not to be in touch with his family.

"He has never gone missing before and, given the fact that no-one has seen or heard from him, concern for his wellbeing is growing.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the car or who may have any information as to where Michael may be to contact us."
