Biker killed in crash in Argyll named as John Johnston

Police have released the name of a 34-year-old man who died after his motorbike came off the road in Argyll.

John Johnston, from Taynuilt, had been travelling east between Taynuilt and Loch Awe on the A85 when the crash happened at 11:30 on Wednesday.

Police said he had been driving a silver Honda Fireblade motorcycle and appealed for anyone who saw the bike in the area to contact them.

The road was closed in both directions for about six hours after the crash.
