Man, 47, dies after street assault in Wishaw

A man who was critically injured in a street attack in North Lanarkshire has died in hospital, police have said.

Kevin Holmes, from Wishaw, was attacked in a common close of flats, near to the Bank of Scotland in the town's Main Street, at about 20:15 on 22 March.

Police Scotland said Mr Holmes died in Wishaw General Hospital on Friday 25 March.

A 44-year-old is expected to appear in court in Friday in connection with an alleged assault on Mr Holmes.
