Man held after three hurt in flat fire in Glasgow

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fire in Glasgow which left three people seriously injured.

The blaze broke out in a ground-floor flat of a four-storey tenement in Fairburn Street, in the Tollcross area, at about 22:50 on 21 March.

Eight people were taken to hospital - five of whom were treated for minor injuries. Two men and a woman were seriously injured in the blaze.

The man who was arrested is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later.

Dozens of people were evacuated from their homes after the blaze broke out and about 50 firefighters were deployed to the scene.

One woman was rescued from a top-floor flat.
