Man in seven-hour Glasgow stand-off with armed police

A man has been taken to hospital after a seven-hour long stand-off with armed police in the east end of Glasgow.

Police with protective gear and riot shields were called to Old Shettleston Road at about 16:30 on Thursday after the man barricaded himself into a house and threatened to self-harm.

Negotiators were called in and the surrounding area was cordoned off.

The man came out of the flat at about 23:00. Police said he was uninjured and no-one else was involved.
