Man in hospital after Clydebank street attack

A man is being treated in hospital after he was attacked while walking in the Drumry area of Clydebank in the early hours of the morning.

The 25-year-old was struck on the head with a blunt object by an unknown man as he walked along a footpath on Ellisland Avenue at about 01:30.

He is currently in a stable condition at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

The suspect is described as white, 5ft 10in tall with short, dark hair.

Det Insp Scott Hamilton, of Police Scotland, said: "It is believed that the 25-year-old man had been involved in an argument with the suspect prior to him being assaulted and therefore I'd like to speak to anyone who witnessed this argument or the actual assault taking place."
