Death of injured man in Greenock 'unexplained'

Police are treating the death of a man who was found injured at a block of flats in Inverclyde as "unexplained".

The 51-year-old was discovered in a close in Robert Street, Port Glasgow, at about 16:15 on Sunday.

He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital in nearby Greenock where he was pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death. Police said a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.
