A woman from Lanarkshire who went missing after returning from visiting relatives in England has been found safe and well.

Caron Findlay, 52, was seen on CCTV images taken from Glasgow's Central Station at about 18:15 on Tuesday after travelling back from Essex.

She contacted her family and was due to travel home to Motherwell but did not turn up.

Police Scotland said on Friday she had now been traced in Ayr.

Officers had earlier said Ms Findlay was part of "a very close knit family who maintain constant contact with one another". She had never gone missing before.
