Woman sought over street attack on man in Glasgow
Police are attempting to trace a woman who seriously assaulted a 22-year-old man in the east end of Glasgow.
The "unprovoked attack" took place at 300 Westmuir Street, in the Parkhead area, at about 18:20 on Friday.
The woman approached the man outside a common close and talked to him before attacking the victim and running off.
He required hospital treatment for cuts to his face. The woman was aged between 16 and 20 and had long blond hair which was worn in a ponytail.
At the time of the attack she was wearing a grey tracksuit top with jeans or dark trousers.
She spoke with a local accent and had what was described as a graze or scab on her forehead.
Officers are carrying out door-to-door inquiries and appealing for anyone with any information to contact them.
Det Con Danny Crilley said: "This man has been targeted for no apparent reason, leaving him with injuries to his face.
"I am sure the woman will be known in the community and I'm appealing to local people to contact us with any information - did you see the woman speak to the man prior to the attack, did you see her when she was running from the scene?
"Any small piece of information could prove vital in our inquiries and I would urge people to contact us."
