Two people have been rescued after a fire in a second floor flat in the southside of Glasgow.

The fire service was called to the blaze on Allison Street at about 06:00 on Saturday.

Firefighters with breathing apparatus searched the flat and rescued a man who was taken to hospital suffering from severe smoke inhalation.

Another casualty was rescued from the property by ladder and treated at the scene.

Appliances from Polmadie and Calton fire stations brought the fire under control.
