Man seriously injured in street assault in Glasgow

A 24-year-old man has been seriously injured in a street attack in the Shawlands area of Glasgow.

The victim was involved in a dispute with another man in Kilmarnock Road, near Tesco Express and Pollokshaws East station, at about 02:10 on Sunday.

He suffered a head injury after being punched and falling and is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The attacker, who was with a woman, ran off south along Kilmarnock Road turning into Newlandsfield Road.

He is described as in his mid 20s, with black hair and was wearing a black shirt, black trousers and black shoes.

The woman he was with is described as being in her mid 20s, with long blonde hair and was wearing a cream dress with black high heels.

Det Con Jim Duncan said: "I would appeal to anyone who was on Kilmarnock Road around the time of the attack and may have witnessed what happened to get in touch."
