Teenager arrested over attempted murder
A teenager has been arrested over the attempted murder of another boy in a lane next to a Glasgow school.
The 16-year-old victim suffered serious injuries after being attacked close to Bannerman High School in Baillieston at about 22:30 on Friday.
Police said the boy had been stabbed following an altercation as he walked through the lane towards Glasgow Road.
They said a 17-year-old boy had been arrested and charged over the incident. He is expected in court on Thursday.
Detectives earlier appealed for information and said the victim managed to make his way to nearby Maxwell Avenue following the alleged attack where an ambulance was called.
He was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he remains "serious but stable".
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the incident."
