Police had previously named Mr Bolam as the person who lived at the flat.

Det Ch Insp Allan Burton said it was "crucial" for officers to speak to everyone who knew Mr Bolam, or had seen or spoken to him in the last three weeks.

He added: "Gordon was an elderly gentleman who kept himself to himself and his family deserve justice, so if you have any information that will help piece together his movements or identify those responsible, I need to hear from you."
