Man dies and two boys, aged 12 and 15, injured in Ayr crash

A 21-year-old man has died following a crash in Ayr on Sunday.

Kai Milligan, from Maybole, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which happened on the B7024 at about 16:45 on Sunday.

A 15-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy are being treated in hospitals in Glasgow and Kilmarnock. Both are in a stable condition.

The 19-year-old female driver and a 17-year-old female passenger received minor injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash which involved a Vauxhall Corsa which was travelling northbound on the B7024, near Blairston Mains. A spokesman said it appeared that the driver had lost control of the vehicle which left the road.

Sgt Andy Johnston, of Police Scotland, said: "Our inquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash, and I would ask anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the car involved on the B7024 before the incident to contact our office."

The 15-year-old boy was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock before being transferred to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow.

The 12-year-old is being treated at Crosshouse Hospital.
