Drugs worth £1.3m seized at flat in Glasgow

Drugs with a street value of £1.3m have been seized at a flat in the east end of Glasgow.

Police acting under warrant searched the flat in Easterhill Place, in the Tollcross area, at 10:45 on Friday.

They recovered five kilos of cocaine, more than 300 grams of heroin and 30 kilos of the mixing agent, Benzocaine.

No arrests have been reported following the raid, which was carried out by officers from Greater Glasgow's Serious and Organised Crime Unit.

Det Insp Jim Biggam said: "This operation demonstrates our determination to rid our streets of drugs and serious and organised crime.

"Through effective intelligence gathering, help and support from the local community we can cause considerable disruption to the supply of drugs.

"This remains a high priority and we will continue to target those involved in this criminal activity."
