Man injured in deliberate hit-and-run in Croftfoot

A 35-year-old man has been injured in a deliberate hit-and-run attack in the south of Glasgow.

Police said the man was hit by a car on a footpath near Spittal Road, in the Croftfoot area, at 14:00 on Monday.

A silver Vauxhall Astra GTC mounted the path and drove at him before heading off towards the Rutherglen area.

The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and released after treatment. Police have appealed for witnesses.

Det Con Ross Philip said: "This road is often busy with traffic and I'm sure there were other vehicles on the road when the car was deliberately driven at the victim.

"I'm appealing to anyone who may have seen this incident or who may have any information or knowledge about the crime or the suspect to get in touch with us.

"Your information could prove vital in progressing our investigation."
