A woman injured when a car crashed into a stationary bus in Wishaw in North Lanarkshire last month has died in hospital.

The 69-year-old was a passenger in a Nissan Micra which hit the single decker bus on Friday 27 January.

The 49-year-old car driver was not injured but his passenger, who was in the rear seat, was taken to Wishaw General Hospital.

She died on Tuesday. Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses.

The crash happened at about 13:40 at the roundabout on the A721 Glasgow Road near to its junction with Netherton Street.

Sgt Stewart Dyer, of Motherwell Road Policing Unit, said: "At the time, the crash may have seemed minor and people might have thought there was no need to speak to police, however, now that the lady has died, we need to speak to anyone who was either on the bus at the time or who may have seen the crash happen."

The 59-year-old driver of the bus was not injured and neither were any passengers on board.
