Police make car appeal after M8 crash in Glasgow
Police are appealing for witnesses to a three-car crash which caused serious congestion on the M8 near Glasgow Airport during the morning rush hour.
They are looking for a car which ran into the back of a red VW Golf, shunting it into another vehicle.
The first car stopped momentarily at the scene before being driven off toward Hillington.
It is thought to have been a blue/green VW Polo or Golf, which police said would have damage to its front.
One driver was taken to hospital after the crash.
In a separate crash, eastbound lanes near Charing Cross tunnel were closed after an accident involving multiple vehicles.
The crash, at junction 18, caused significant tailbacks for early rush-hour drivers, with traffic backed up beyond Junction 26.
It was reported shortly after 07:30.
No-one was seriously injured in the incident, which affected lanes one and two of the route.
Police Scotland said two vehicles had been taken from the scene.
Traffic Scotland said debris from the crash had been moved to the A82 Dumbarton slip, which was also briefly closed.
