Man charged over shotgun and explosives at High Blantyre house

A 49-year-old man has appeared in court charged with possessing firearms and explosives.

Gary Trussler was arrested after police were called to a property in Kirkton Avenue, High Blantyre, on Wednesday.

He appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on two charges of making or possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances.

He was also charged with having a shotgun without a certificate and five counts of possessing an air weapon.

The 49-year-old made no plea and was remanded in custody.

He is expected to appear in court again on 30 June.
