Student hit by a car outside Glasgow University has died
A 24-year-old woman who was hit by a car in the west end of Glasgow has died.
The student was struck on University Avenue by a Ford Fiesta being driven by a 42-year-old man at about 17:25 on Tuesday.
She was being treated for a head injury at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but died on Thursday.
Police, who renewed an appeal for witnesses, said a full report would be forwarded to the procurator fiscal.
The student was studying at Glasgow International College, which teaches foreign students before they move on to degrees at the University of Glasgow.
She was crossing the road close to the junction with Southpark Avenue when she was hit by the vehicle.
The university has been providing support to the woman's family and friends.
A spokeswoman said: "We are deeply saddened that a student at our partner institution, Glasgow International College, has died as a result of a road traffic accident on Tuesday.
"We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends, and are doing all that we can to work with police on understanding the circumstances of the incident."
