Four men accused of abducting man in Inverness

Four Bangladeshi men accused of abducting another man in Inverness have appeared in court from custody.

It was alleged they struck in the Scorguie area of the city on Sunday.

The four are Zuhel Rahman Ashuk, 31, Raja Imran, 29, of Chigwell, Essex, Mir Abib Sufain, 34, and Safiul Alam, 37, from London.

They appeared separately before Sheriff Ian Abercrombie. All four were remanded in custody and are expected to appear in court again next week.

They were accused of abducting a man by seizing hold of him, carrying him to a car and forcing him into the rear seat.

They allegedly pinned him to the rear seat of the car and repeatedly threatened to kill him and members of his family.

The four men are further alleged to have punched him on the head, driven him around Inverness in the car and detained him against his will.
