Highland Council must find £11m more cuts

Highland Council leaders have warned that the financial crisis faced by the local authority is worse than previously thought.

The authority had originally proposed to save almost £60m over three years.

But at a meeting on Thursday, leaders said the council must find a further £11m-worth of cuts.

Councillors were told they faced some of the most difficult decisions in decades, reaching into every activity from road maintenance to education.
