Firms invited to care for elderly in Highlands

Companies and organisations have been invited to indicate their interest in providing residential care for the elderly in Tain and Muir of Ord.

The move follows Highland Council's decision earlier this year to drop plans to build five new care homes.

They were proposed for Fort William, Grantown-on-Spey, Inverness, Muir of Ord and Tain.

The authority had said it could no longer afford the £30m needed to meet the commitment.
