Five people have been arrested after police raided six addresses in and around Tain as part of an anti-drugs operation.

Two men aged 28, a 27-year-old man and a 20-year-old man along with a woman, 23, will be reported to the procurator fiscal.

Officers recovered various quantities of suspected class B drugs.

Sgt Garry Cameron, of Northern Constabulary, said the operation aimed to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs.

He added: "Today's action should send out a clear message to those involved in the drugs trade that the police will continue to carry out such operations.

"Drugs are a blight on society and we hope our work today provides some reassurance to law abiding citizens living in the same areas as those involved in the drugs trade.

"Drug use and drug dealing has a detrimental effect on all our communities."
