This year's Inverness Film Festival will be the biggest yet, according to its director Paul Taylor.

Now in its eighth year, the event will be held next month at Eden Court.

Films to be shown include Monsters which is set in an alien-infested Central America and stars real-life couple Scoot McNairy and Whitney Able.

The festival will also host the first Scottish screening of The American, which has George Clooney playing an assassin.

In total, the event will feature three UK and 15 Scottish premieres.

Films have been selected from across the world, including Australia, Thailand and Japan.
