Councillors reject proposed Caithness wind farm

A group of Highland councillors have turned down Scottish and Southern Energy's (SSE) plans to build a new wind farm in Caithness.

The company could appeal against the decision rejecting the 13 turbines on land at Mains of Durran.

The turbines proposed would reach 90m (295ft) in height.

A hearing was held by Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross planning applications committee before councillors voted on the application.
