Climber dies after Ben Nevis fall

A climber has died following a fall from Ben Nevis in Fort William.

The man was fatally injured when he fell into the Tower Gully as he scaled Britain's highest mountain.

A member of his party contacted the emergency services at about 1720 GMT on Sunday and a crew from the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and a search and rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth attended.

They recovered the body of the climber, who has not yet been named.
