Barra plane damaged by de-icer vehicle 'fit to fly'

A passenger aircraft which had a wing dented by an airport de-icing machine has been declared serviceable and returned to flying duties.

The Loganair Twin Otter was damaged at Glasgow Airport from where it flies to Barra on the Western Isles.

Following checks, the plane was put back into service but its first commercial flight was delayed because of freezing fog.

Loganair said services were scheduled to resume as normal on Wednesday.
