Man airlifted after falling 100ft on Ben Nevis

A man has been airlifted to hospital after falling about 100ft on Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands.

A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said the alarm was raised at about 1320 GMT.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and an RAF helicopter took part in the rescue and the man was airlifted to Belford Hospital in Fort William.

The police spokesman said the man's injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
