Western Isles firm ADM folds with loss of 19 jobs

A Western Isles firm has ceased trading and made its 19 staff redundant because of cash flow problems.

Family-run ADM Construction had been operating from Stornoway on Lewis since 1992.

Owner Alex Murray said he was disappointed but a bad year in 2010 had left him with no other choice than to voluntarily cease trading.

Those losing their jobs include joiners, bricklayers, slaters and also five apprentices.
