Father and son rescued after Glenshee mountain fall

A father and his son have been rescued after becoming stranded on a mountain at Glenshee in Perthshire.

Tayside Police said the seven-and-a-half-hour rescue operation began at 1200 GMT after one of the men fell near the summit of the mountain.

The pair were then trapped after heavy snow and wind swept the area making an unassisted descent unlikely.

They were eventually led to safety by a local mountain rescue team at about 1930 GMT on Saturday.
