'Poo count' in effort to tackle dog mess in Cairngorms
Volunteers are to survey spots where dogs have fouled so they can gauge the success of a new scheme to clean up an area of the Cairngorms National Park.
Dubbed a "poo count", it will be carried out in Anagach Woods at the weekend.
The area will be covered by a Green Dog Walkers scheme.
Started in Falkirk, it involves volunteers wearing green wrist bands to show they have pledged to clear up after their dogs.
The volunteers also carry spare bags for other walkers to use.
Highland Council has now adopted the scheme.
The woodland project involves Anagach Woods Trust, Highland Council Ranger Service and Cairngorms National Park Authority.
