Wildlife crime operation launched near Inverness
Police and animal welfare charities have launched an investigation into allegations of wildlife crime on a Highlands estate.
Northern Constabulary has not named the estate involved, but said it was in the Inverness area.
Twenty-five police officers have been working with RSPB Scotland, Scottish SPCA and National Wildlife Crime Unit on the probe.
No further details on the operation were available at this stage.
A police spokesman said: "As inquiries are ongoing and this is very much a live investigation it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."
