Closure threat Wick tax office to stay open until 2014

A closure threatened tax office in Wick that employs 18 people will remain open until 2014.

HM Revenue and Customs had planned to shut the office next year, but has delayed the move until at least 2014.

The Public and Commercial Services union led a Wick Wants Work campaign, calling for the staff not to be made redundant.

The union said the announcement marked a partial victory, adding that it would continue its campaign.
