Inverness bank card skimming pair jailed
Two bank card skimmers who targeted machines in Inverness have each been jailed for two years and nine months.
Romanians Florin Pop, 26, and Alexandru Anton, 22, attempted to steal cash from dispensers at a Tesco supermarket.
Depute fiscal Sharon Ralph told Inverness Sheriff Court that the pair attached devices and video cameras to the cash points.
Pop and Anton admitted forming a scheme with others in a bid to steal unknown sums of money on 18 and 19 March.
Sheriff Margaret Neilson said a strong message had to be sent out to criminals who attempted to steal money in such a way.
