Woman knocked down by lorry in Inverness dies

A woman has died after being knocked down and injured by a lorry on a road in Inverness.

Emergency services were called to Fairfield Road at about 09:50 on Friday following reports of an accident.

Northern Constabulary said Norma Junor, 70, from the Muirtown area of the town died at the scene.

Fairfield Road and nearby Ross Avenue were closed be shut for several hours while officers carried out investigations.
