75mph wind cause disruption in Highlands and Islands

Travel in the Highlands and Islands and Argyll has been badly affected by high winds.

Ten ferry sailings have either been disrupted or cancelled. Police have also warned drivers to be careful crossing the Kessock and Skye bridges.

Cairngorm Mountain ski resort has suspended its funicular railway and Nevis Range was not operating its gondola system because of the wind.

Gusts of up to 75mph have been recorded by Cairngorm Mountain.
