Glasgow to Mallaig train damaged by sleeper on line

A passenger train travelling from Glasgow to Mallaig was slightly damaged after a railway sleeper was placed on the line in Lochaber.

British Transport Police is investigating the incident which happened between Tulloch and Roy Bridge at about 22:00 on 9 November.

The driver of the 18:12 service from Glasgow was able to complete the journey. No-one was injured.

Police believed the sleeper was put on the line sometime after 16:00.
